The book is called "The Untold History of Ramen" written by George Solt.
It is published from University of California Press in 2014.
While I claim in this blog that I love sweets, I also adore popular Japanese dishes such as yakiniku, sushi, and especially ramen!!! Today, many people prefer ramen, and we can proudly say that ramen is Japan's national dish. However, few people know how ramen became so popular in the lives of Japanese people. In fact, I had no idea either.
However, as I read this book, I learned that there were many factors that contributed to ramen becoming Japan's national dish, including the importation of wheat during Japan's starvation period during the war. I am still in the middle of reading the book, but I have already made many new discoveries, and I am happy to have found such an interesting book.
The section I am reading now deals with the topic of instant noodles. I often eat it, so I am looking forward to discovering new things as I continue reading the book.
